what a fabric find! i recently bought a 13 pack of tea towels & this was one of them. i thought it was far to gorgous to dry my dishes with. so instead it became 4 lil zip purses. 2 have red corduroy lining ( i have already given away ) another with green & this one with my nanas new vintage pillow case.

YES! my craft is kind of random, but thats what keeps my creative life interesting....i am always making something!

MAD STITCHES, ASHTON & IVY and HOLI GODDESS (me) will be joining forces at a night market this wednesday night 7-9pm at aspendale gardens primary school selling our kids clothing lines. i will have a range of kidi t's, pants, hairclips, neck wraps & vintage messenger bags all at wholesale prices, so come along and grab a bargain

aubergine curtains

today my studio is filled with 15mtrs of aubergine cotton drill fabric. i am making curtains for MYSTIC TURTLE in mentone. i have redesigned their shop front, now the fun part sewing up curtains, actually i find it quite boring, straight stitching for about 100 metres in the same colour.

next we will be doing the window decals which is very stressful cos it only gets done once. the new paint colours i have chosen for the frontage are dulcet violet & army issue by dulux. so much fun............

i love tulips

today i got some fab more stuff up to eva's lil florist shop in edithvale. if you're local pop in say hi or just to check out my new bags, scarves & hats. i thought about putting the new gear onto made it, but i figured more people are likely to see what i do at eva's. she has put my lil russian doll tshirts in the window & i have kindly lent her my favorite old school dress manniquin to display my bags - which by the way are awsum! heavy duty calico bags with zips & pockets, lined & outlined with one off vintage pieces of fabric. rrp $45

a budding young artist at work

nina stopped us in our tracks to look at the glowing red DALI. it is underneath one of the walkways, amazing how kids seem to see everything. we sat there for ages looking through the holes in the mesh floor.

today we had a fabulous day at the NGV (national gallery of victoria) they have had a kids program running for the last couple of weeks where the lil ones can get involved & experiment with SALVADOR DALI style of artistry. today nina took on the challenge and did a still life picture in pencil of a grasshopper. nonna & i were super impressed!!! photos of the day still to come. (i left mine at home. have to wait til the happy snaps get passed onto me)

this is the first time i have ever seen her write her name without any instruction, we got an i & a n - not bad for a 3 yr old. if you get the chance take your kidikins to play & explore the kids space at the gallery, heaps of fun & its free.

harlequin skirt

nina loves her new pure wool harlequin skirt. the last one shrank in the wash- i'm too lazy to hand wash. the fabric was a fab find at a warehouse clearance sale & lucky me bought the whole 10 metres. so there will more coming soon!!!

orange crush

this is my new lamp with its shade, its not the original fabric i chose, which as it turned out the pattern ran the wrong way, so i HAd to buy new fabric - what a pity. so the original linen bird print is to be a cushion. i must admit i have a bit of an orange crush thing goin on at the moment. my home decor used to be greens now it all seems to be reds & oranges. in the world of chakra therapy- this would say that instead of being in tune with my heart (green) i am now more into the base & sacral chakras of reds & oranges. which would suggest that i am needing be grounded!
